Splitting Cases-Help!

Post by cafe*racer »

Does anyone out there know the trick to splitting engine cases? I have removed everything according to Chilton and CycleServ manuals and following procedures--depress kickstarter past half travel and tap on drive shaft from opposite side, no budge. I even used 'Big Wally' (aka 5lb. brass sledge)-- still no budge. Please help.

Thought maybe the manuals I posted above may show something the others may have omitted. Good luck!

Yes I am sure everything has been removed...So my next question is where can I take the engine to have it disassembled for me? I would prefer to go to a shop that knows Ducs and within about 50 miles of San Francisco. My frame is primed now and I want to start mocking things up, will post some pics soon.
