Hi from a Darmah owner in Paris!

Post by CPAO »

Hello All,

I'm joining your forum after having read some regarding the CCs!

I'm italian but was born in France and I've spent quite a time in Italy. Of course, when I was young, I've been riding many bikes in Italy. later on, I've been the owner of many Ducatis over the years (Monsters 900/1000, ST4S, etc.) and I'm now retired and taking care of two more: one parallel twin (500 SD from Mototrans in Spain, I know ducatisti don't like them too much) and I recently bought a Darmah supposed to have been "redone".

In fact, while the engine has been redone indeed and is working well, many other things are far from perfect! From the start, I had to change the level of one carb float (Dell'orto 32) as the mixture was way too rich on one cylinder, the hardened tyres, and I'm now coming to redo the fork and rear shock (all Marzocchi). I'm fixing/cleaning/redoing the Brembos, and will change the head bearings together with the work on the fork (the behaviour of the bike is "strange" at low speed on the roundabouts!). In short, I have plenty on my plate!

So, I'll be glad to read through the amount of experience in this forum and ask for help or try to help if I can. In fact I currently know better the 500SD which I have revived from the dead the last two years!

Cheers
Christian

Hi Christian,
Very nice looking Darmah, should go well once you have serviced it. This forum has been very quiet of late, I think various social media based Ducati groups have somewhat taken over but it is still a very good source of info. Let us know how you get on.
cheers
