Hello!
Brand new to the forum and I need your help!
I am currently in the process of looking for a new toy. I have been tempted to buy many bikes - allsorts, but have settled on a 1997 CBR 1000.
I have owned them in the past, like the reliability and (forgive me) being an ex Police motorcyclist, favour Hondas.
THEN - I saw a 1996 900 SS for sale at the same place, 20,000 and only £2500.
Can anyone give me a clue what these bikes are about? Are they reliable, expensive to own etc etc.
The price is right for my pocket, it is something a little different and my heart says YES. What do you all think?
Answers very much appreciated.
Johnny.

Reliable? - yes. Expensive to maintain? - somewhat but not excessively.
What you should probably realise though is that they are a later model belt driven machine and the primary focus of this forum is vintage bevel driven Ducatis. You will find a lot of other forums and user groups on the net that may suit your interests better, that is, unless you decide to join us and buy a bevel! Try the Big List at http://www.ducati.net/.
Good luck,
Chris
