Yes, the speedo cable has me stumped. It didnt work, so I got a new cable. It comes out of the speedometer easily but appears to be stuck inside the speedo unit on the wheel. What am I missing? I expected to remove the cap and lift out the cable, but not so. Guidance please.

It should come out easily so clearly its jammed somehow. You'll just have to yank it out or work it back and forth until it frees itself. The tach cable on my bike tends to jam itself into the cylinder head drive and this is what I have to do.

Just had this same problem on my MZ. Had to remove the drive and take it over to the bench for penetrating oil and heat gun application. Got it out without damaging anything. Rust and no grease were the causes.
