PO8 shaved caliper pad pin conundrum

Here's a little bit of a mystery, I've just starting work on my '75 900 ss, the original, shaved, PO8 caliper pad retaining pins are made of aluminium alloy , have been on the front calipers since new and are consequently quite worn. I've never seen this mentioned anywhere, and I don't recommend them, one is nearly worn through, although
I might have a set made up just for show . The rear caliper has the correct length (63mm)steel pins, fitted by me aeons ago when I broke one of the alloy pins. I have just bought full rebuild kits from Mario Sassi (ORSP) brembo part no. 120.2742.10 which are the correct (ish)overall length (61.5mm... but hey) but have a very significant difference which has serious safety implications. The critical dimension of the pin is the distance between the spring clip and the start of the smaller diameter at the pointy end. This is 22.5mm on the original alloy pins, axially quite sloppy, 24.5mm on the steel original pins, perfect, and 27.0 mm on the new parts. This is DANGEROUS because is means that the spring clip on the new pins does not click over into the counterbore on the inside face of the caliper. It's easy to miss because the pins are often a snug fit, but they will fall out under riding conditions. Not a good day out.
My questions on this obscure bit of Ducatism are:
Have I just got the wrong pin kit, is the correct one available?
Has anybody come across the alloy pins before?
Neither is mission critical as machining the new pins to the correct dimension is easy, but, if you have fitted new pins to shaved PO8s recently, you might want to go out and check.

Cheers

The stainless steel pin kits I stock for the "shaved" brembo calipers - to fit what you have on your SS are here http://shop.bevelheaven.com/detail.aspx?ID=572 and they measure from the spring clip to the pointy end where it necks down approx 25mm. It seems they mimic the original steel ones you show.

On the stainless steel pin kits that I stock for the standard brembo F08 calipers, the same measurement taken shows about 27mm. These are available here http://shop.bevelheaven.com/detail.aspx?ID=568

This topic has been discussed at length on another forum--the washup was there is 3 suppliers offering "shaved pins" which are the wrong size.I have not seen steves pins but expect them to be correct.Looks like we can make that number -4-. Before you buy---get all dimensions---including width of centre pin--which is 2mm shorter for shaved calipers.

Guys, many thanks for the responses, I suspected the subject had been raised before, maybe you could point me in the direction of the "other forum". I also expect that Steve's pins are exactly correct and will shortly order 3 sets ,although at that price I would like them delivered on a silver tray by a gorgeous woman wearing only Chanel No.5 and a smile....(Only joking, understand fully the economics of short run manufacturing).
Steve, I would like to order a number of bits and pieces, would it be best for me to email you a list before diving straight into the online shop, since I am about as far away from California as it is possible to get on planet earth (Poland) and I don't want to get involved in sending stuff backwards and forwards.
