I have an 82 SS, it`s the silver and blue one and just lately I`ve been toying with the thought of spraying her black and gold. You just made a very valid argument to get out and buy some black paint.
Are they the original wheels??? Very very pretty indeed.

Nice and tidy indeed, I think all SS's should have come out with spoked wheels they just look better

I just finished converting my '79 to wire wheels and my wife hasn't forgiven me yet! She claims it is now like every other bike on the road whereas with the Speedlines it looked really unique. Could she be trying to get rid of me?

Bruce,
Funny thing the womans perspective! I had just finished fitting a set of wires to my 79 Black and Gold SS, my mother (god love her), comes out into my shed, takes a look at the bike and says 'I liked the gold wheels better' (referring to the FPS's).
Well, it made my head spin!

The wires are still on it though as I think they look appropriate for the ss.

What size rear rims are you blokes fitting,I am thinking there are none bigger than 3 inch in the Borani style,Grant I was up you way on Sunday,
sitting at the Pie in the Sky with a mate and out of the blue CJ comes past on his Jota,
de gets around that bloke.

It is a SS of the 80.
Originally it takes Campagnolo(Front: 2,15 Rear: 2,50),I have looked for these measures in Borrani,with tires 90/90 and 130/80.(Continental TKV 11 / 12 )

I like the classic image of the wheels of spokess, for that reason I have changed them.

p.d.I HOPE TO HAVE ANSWERED ALL!!

Saludos!!!!!

I used a Borrani 2.5 inch (WM-4) rim on the back. This is the same size as the original Speedline wheel.

Would anyone of you fellows who have changed the alloy (FPS) wheels for spokes, be prepared to sell me their rear FPS rim, for my 82 900ss. I am in desperate need of one FPS rear, as I have sheared all my bolts on my cush drive. I am in Sydney and would appreciate any help. Thanks

Sorry Justin, I use the wheels on track bike at moment.
Give Mike at Gowys a call or try Dave at Moto Italia 0432441985, he may be able to point you in the right direction to a wheel

Hi Grant,
I was a postie for a while on lower north shore and knew a guy (Grant) who was a duke fiend way back when.

he had a beautiful sport, and when I bumped into him a few years later, he had added a couple of GT's and a single from memory.

I have been expecting to find him along the way here sometime

Thanks

Rick
