I modified a three leg puller. It has worked fine so far, but I would not like to place it under a lot of load.

followup..

AutoZone has a three-leg gear puller which fits perfectly under the flywheel gear. It is a 2-ton puller, I will post the part # later.

Flywheel puller for Darmah?
