hi all, can any one help with a problem i pulled my clutch case off on
the weekend and the plates came off,but the splined central basket has
sort of got wear marks on the splines where the tangs of the plate rub.
question one : can i just file out these undulations with fine grade paper
or do i need a new splined centre

question two :how much meat does the clutch need to have on the plate
mine have only got about 1-1.5 mm,is this enough.
thanks

I don't believe you specified what bike you are working on, but if it is a bevel Ducati I think you will have better luck using a file to smooth out the ridges in the STEEL clutch center.

hi, bike is 72 gt,
i did try filing down but need a very thin file to get into the groove of the splines, does this not matter about having more play in the splines ? :?

On the road you won't even notice the difference.
