Hi Chaps
Making good progress on my restoration of a 250scr 1974, spending loads of time in the shed.

I need to nip up the main crankshaft pinion nut but am not sure of the torque setting. I'm loath to just 'have a guess'.
One of you nice gentlemen/ladies will surely have a ball-park figure I should go for.

In the end I went for 'bloody tight', hopefully that will do.

Yep, it's a Jesus Nut. And to prove the point

, the figure given on page 81 of the Ducrappi w/shop manual is:

8.3 to 9.7 Kgm
That's 80Nm - 96Nm, to you and me

. So, 'Tight and then some'.

Note: This is the manual for the n/cases. However, the supplement that purportedly covers the wide-cases says:
"As a whole, follow the description of the (narrow-case) Work Shop Manual from page 78 to 93".

And specifically for this operation: "Follow as explained at page 81, figures 77 and 33 of the Work Shop Manual ...."
