I am rebuilding my gearbox and have a problem

There is a double lipped plastic seal witch fits inside the end of the sleve gear.
But how to place it .. with the open side outwards or with the open side into the sleve gear?

Mine had the open side facing inwards and i believe it was fitted correct.

You are rigth about that.

The problem was that the seal from the factory was fittet with the open side outwards, and then I was no longer sure.

But now it is placed correct as You describe it.
