I have in my possession aprilia bucket #19888 & chrome ring #40852.
Am I on the way to a complete fitting headlight unit? Mass confusion
on what will work & what won't. Thanks!

I think you will find that the Bucket has just the Aprillia stamp , rim number is correct

There are also several different types of Aprillia buckets to suit several different Duke's
