Hi All
I'm after a project bike either a SD900 or SS900 but must be complete

Has to be a bevel, running is not that that important (as long as its not seized) and it can be started up

Someone must know of one that is just sitting around doing nothing

Even if you see a for sale sign on one just pass it onto me
A bottle of Wild Turkey is waiting for someone that can find me one    if I buy it

Cheers

Thanks Bill
but as I pointed out in my PM by the time shipping and tax's get added, it would no longer make it a project bike I was looking more for a poor cond bike between 3 & 6k and it would be great if the bike was in Australia as I have never imported anything like this before and wouldn't even know where to begin looking to get it done right , anyone in OZ that knows of one give me a bell.

Hi Martin,

I think you would just pay for shipping.

There is, to my knowledge, no duty or gst on 2nd hand gear, particularly, if it is partially dissassembled & comes in as "2nd hand parts"

I have just read an article on importing 2nd hand boats from USA, & now we have that "free trade agreement" no duties, nothing, ie free trade!

good luck

Hi Rick

I got onto Customs this morning and from what I have been told, it is going to be one hellova sh!t fight , there is still 10% GST this includes gst on shipping charges as well , and unless you have owned the vehicle for some time OS that its going to become increasingly harder to import vehicles

So back to the drawing board --- the bike must be in Australia --

unless anyone else knows how to get around this

Bugger ahh

Hi Martin

as i say, if it is partially disassembled, which is easy with these bikes, bring it in as 2nd hand parts.

they have been doing it with Harleys for many years.

There used to be a guy up in the Blue Mountains ( MT Wilson) who would bring in whole container loads of "old parts" for reassembly & resale here

But anyway, for the $ you want to spend, you are right, far better off to source something locally.

It is amazing, I rekon about 12-18 months ago, there were probably 10 or 15 around on the various websites ranging from about 5K-12K.
You would have had your choice.

It seems that the 'bug" has hit us here big time. Even the 860/900 gt/s's

2 years ago, there was regularly 4 or 5 for the 3k mark on ebay of DOC websites. Now, nothing!

The only bevel around at present is an 84 S2 for about 12K on the DOCQ website
I will keep my eyes open for you........a bottle of turkey...mmm
