Vee Two sells straight cut primary gear sets for the Mille engine, I've got them in my bike
I do have the OEM helical cut gears somewhere and I "believe" the taper and the other details are the same as the wet clutch square case bikes but the ratio is different

If you're still pursuing the front end swap I ran across this site while looking for wheel bearings

Re: What modern front end will fit a bevel headstem?
Problem is the stem diameter and bearing sizes from modern Japanese bikes are way larger than the "Ducati" dimensions in the Alchemy frame.
Theoretically you could press out the stem from a set of "modern" triple clamps and get one made to suit the Alchemy headstock but then you are stuck with ...

Re: what does it sound like when the sprag bearing goes?
You need several special tools and a good hydraulic puller, it's not that hard with medium level mechanical experience

Re: Imola high pipes tuned length assistance?
I'm in the same boat re designing and building an exhaust for my Mille Alchemy, never been able to find any info regarding the dimensions of the actual megaphone part
but there are a few sites which will give primary header length and diameter.

Re: tight exhaust nuts
Google "penetrating fluid comparison" a home brew 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone beat all the commercial available stuff.
Also did you try tightening it a bit to break the bond?
I have read of another owner who gave up and hacksawed the header pipe to get the head off then used a dremmel to gradually ...

Put "Lucky Keizer merlin" into google image search for lots of pics.
Lucky's bike had belt drive cams so no bevel.
From memory he found a war surplus engine in a crate on some old blokes farm, the farmer thought it would make a good irrigation pump but ran out of motivation.

Reverse / swap the pick up wires position into the bosch electronic box
when you say pick up gap you mean 0.15mm ~ 0.10mm ?
I will look in my workshop manual tonight and confirm the gap, also it is preferred to use a brass or other non magnetic feeler gauge to check the gap to get a better "feel ...

Re: Electric start to kick start
Both are Bosch ignition engines. The Alchemy does not have the kick start shaft, I am hoping to remove that from the Darmah and install in the Alchemy. I guess my next step is to have a go.
thanks

Re: Vee Two Australia, Alchemy
That is certainly unique, looks like the fuel tank is different from what came with the Alchemy kit as the filler location is further back towards the rider.
afaik there was only 100 SV2 frames made, don't know the number of RV1's

I have owned a Alchemy SV-1 since 1994 ish,
afaik the SV-1 and RV-1 had the same geometry with the RV-1 having a different sub frame to run the exhaust over the rear of the motor through the area the battery is normally located to increase lean angles.

atomiser/needle won't make any difference to idle speeds from your 1st post,

My motor is on the bench with the clutch cover side off the atm (I'm fitting IgniTech Pickups and making new mount plate),
I can have a look and see if there is any discernible numbers on the old Bosch pickups, will post up any info I can find tomorrow.
