A quick update. I eventually got my stator (G92) and they also sent me a rotor in the package, so I suppose I forgive them for the wait!
Fitted the stator and had to elongate the wires as they would not reach to under the seat, put it all back together and guess what.... it didn't charge ...

Re: No charging issue 900ss
Those barst*&*^ds on ebay showing 10 units in stock and then inform you (after taking your money) that they are waiting for delivery.
Should receive my G92 stator tomorrow....I will update once it's fitted.

Re: No charging issue 900ss
Hi Dean,
The battery is about a year old, and will hold a charge when I put it on the charger overnight, so I am assuming it's good enough. What leads me to believe the stator is bad is that I can not see any AC volts measuring across the 2 yellow wires, even though the resistance checks are good ...

No charging issue 900ss
Hi All,
After having charged the battery mulitple times I realised that the bike (900ss 1979) is not charging at all, the voltmeter doesn't move when I blip the throttle. The bike is fitted with an after market (5 wire) reg/rec, which I have tested the diode bridge and it checks out fine at that ...

Footrest broken off 900ss 1979
Hi All,
Missed a bend at the weekend and the bike went down on the right side, pivoted on the footrest and then broke off. It seems to have broken at the braze on the frame.
I will now have to get it put back on, the question is : was it braised for a reason, or could I get it welded, it would seem ...

Exahust Bolts size?
Sorry if this is the wrong section as the question relates to my exhaust setup. Using contis on a 1979 900SS, I lost the bolt (no passenger footrests) that hold the silencer to the frame. Looking at the parts guides it would appear to be a 7/16 14mm bolt. I can only get metric parts where I live ...

Sorry to come back to this again, but I removed the disks, and they are definately warped i.e. bent on both sides (inside and out), so I don't see how I can get them ground down, I think I need to replace them.
Looking around the web, there seems to be an EBC replacement disk setup, and I see them ...

Yes that was the first thing I did - I reckon (just holding a screwdriver up against the disk) that there is about 0.25 mms run out. And then I started thinking that this shouldn't make it pulse anyway, as the pistons should move to compensate for any slight warp.
Is 0.25mms too much? Can I get the ...
