Can anyone answer whether a smiths tacho from a British bike will work on my 860? what ratio 4.1?

I had poor charging on my 860GT as well when I got it. Same low voltage.

On GT's the Red light is a Indicator only to say the ignition is on. It's not a charge. If not working blown globe, poor connection (lume etc) . Also it comes from the fuse box under the seat Violet coloured wire 3rd fuse in ...

Can report that problem was with carby's have pulled apart and cleaned , blow air through it, checked, checked and double checked sync again, put it all together again and BINGO :-D

Timing was good, valve clearance, Inet Manifold gaskets good, exhaust clamps, Electronica ignition coils was all ...

timing all good! Still didn't found out if pickups are ajusted individually?

I know this post was last year. I have the same Issue at the moment.

Well this continuation of my previous post to get my GTE running right.

Well, have fitted new correct size jets 122,needle and seats, atomisers AB265, needles. Just about everything except the slides. Matched up choke jets to 75.
Found idle jets missed matched as well 58 and 60. Have another 60 coming!

I was on another tangent! I was looking at getting some trumpets and read about chokes sizes etc- thinking cable/lever chokes (starting)- that choke not size of carby!
The Penny has dropped.

Here's a question, why does the detail below mention choke size when selling trumpets? etc. Sorry I don't understand.

Put old exhaust mufflers on still doing it (coughing) and running rich. Pulled front carby off and found main jet is 135 not 122. So I gather this is my problem?
Will put a order through for some more gear soon, Steve.
