Checked cam timing with the degree wheel and it is right on. In the past it had run a little better on an Amal concentric M1 carb instead of the stock Delorto. Not now it still is erratic and stalls with frequent carb farts. Not really a backfire through the carb but a puff. I am at a loss on what I ...

250 Monza idle problems
66 Monza with a poor erratic idle and eventual stalling. I can not seem to get idle settings right. puffs through the exhaust and occasional puffs back through the carb. I performed a leak down test and at 80 lbs. had 70 lbs. showing with some ring blow by and a little through the exhaust valve. I ...

250 Monza Cylinder base shim
The 66 250 Monza engine I have came with a metal shim between two gaskets at the base of the cylinder. Is this a modification or stock? If a modification, why? Should I remove it or leave it in place?
Thanks in advance.

250 Monza Engine set up questions
That is essentially what I am doing.
I figured out the Cam bevel gear mystery. (question 2) By disassembling the gear drive bearing housing and removing the oil line you can mess up the gear alignment without removing the lock tab and nut from the cam.
As the saying goes, the problem with making ...

250 Monza Engine set up questions
I am attempting to help my son resurrect a basket 67 250 Monza. The motor was unassembled. Two primary questions.
1. If the bottom end gears alignment dots are lined up is that supposed to be TDC? Someone has made marks on the case and flywheel that correspond with those marks but it is NOT TDC.
