Wires were originally colour codes in pairs, each pair containing one white and one white/black coded wire. Since yours have been cut you will have to open the case to determine how the wires pair up even if you have insulation left.

The brown and white wires run to the central pin on the 'square ...

Hi From South Wales - the old one that is

Just getting my GTS (owned since 1981) back into decent order after leaving it unloved in the back of the shed for way too many years after family and four wheels took over my life and transport. Stripped, powder coated, rechromed, polished mostly back together. Definitely a learning experience ...

1980 GTS - where does the red/black wire go

Just getting the harness back on the GTS after a frame powder coat

I have no wiring diagram and failed to label a red/black screw thru tagged wire in the battery area

ON the basis of the tag I seem to have two choices battery positive or battery negative/ground.

My guess is battery positive ...

type of 3M shrink tube to use for ignition wire splice

I've been browsing 3M datasheets looking for heat shrink that sounds like the stuff suggested in this thread.

So far the best bet looks to be 3M ETW-803 in the 3mm/1mm size. Does this sound right?

Got to figure out where to get the right kind of shrinkwrap and the Threebond that Steve recommends in the UK.

Out of interest what kind ...

Rewiring the pickups - where do I solder

All ready to go with the pickup rewire.

Pulled the case expecting to see the existing wires leading to an obvious solder joint on the pickup. Silly me!

So the question is do the pickup bodies open up in some simple way to reveal the the tag to which the existing wires are soldered. Or do I clip ...

Molex Pins for ignition subharness connecter

Got the darmah ignition subharness and shiny new aero cable to replace the knackered ignition cable on my GTS

having trouble finding the correct molex pins. Worked out they were 0.093 however only ones I can find are for 18-22 AWG. Molex used to make them in a number of sizes down to one suitable ...
