Bike has just been collected. Was a fantastic little bike. It wasn't fast, quite heavy and low compression, but in the summer, cruising was great. Totally the opposite of my yellow 250 Desmo, but so familiar!

I have accepted an offer. Will update this if/when it has finally gone.

Ducati 350 engined Condor A350 for sale.

This bike has a widecase 350 bevel motor, as supplied to Condor by Ducati.
Forks are Marzocchi, lots of Ducati style bits. The last time it was ridden was when I rode it in 2006, back from its Swiss 'MOT' inspection, which it passed.
It is not immaculate, but in reasonable condition. It will need a ...

Brilliant to see these pictures, thanks. It looks like the Vento gets used.
Would love to see more like this if possible, for the earlier Mototrans bikes.

What were the Spanish engine numbers like? Were they all stamped MD250, then a number (instead of DM250, etc)?

Original source of Mototrans parts and castings

I am wondering what parts of the Mototrans Ducati singles were made in Italy? Were things like castings, con rods, lights, mudguards, forks, switchgear, rear shocks, gearbox internals, pistons liners, cams, rockers, alternators all made in Spain?

Try the Ducati Scrambler club. They had a selection of headlights for sale. They are closed for a few days at the moment. But they were listing headlights a few days ago.

Eldert,

Thanks for the tip about the scrambler club, which I googled. A great website that.

Kev, The 450 big ends are listed in two sizes also.

I meant "Mach 1", not Mk1. I was under the false impression that the Mach 1 was the first widecase motor. Having had another look at photos, I can see that the widecase rear engine mounts are in a very different place, outside the oil breather. Fortunately I was out bid on the Mach 1 crank I was ...

Thanks for the quick answer Eldert.
I also have a Condor. I had no idea about the crank differences with that engine!

Will a 250 Mk1 crank go in a 250 Mk3 engine?

I have a late 250 Mk3 (1975) which needs a crank. I'm wondering will a MK1 crank fit?

They are both wide case engines aren't they?

About the small Dellorto, I have never had a bike start easier, idle more smoothly, use less fuel, and pick of from low revs better than with its tiny dellorto, something like 20 or 22mm on a 250! Perhaps with a bigger, worn dellorto carb things are different?

I like Nick's idea of keeping it standard and scruffy. In which case I would keep the little Dellorto carb. If they are not worn, they are FAB carbs, every bit as good as the Amal concentric. If you must switch the carb, go for an Amal. I have never seen a Mikuni or Keihin on a running Duke. My 250 ...

There were two styles of Monza, the early ones looked quite attractive and rounded, and were quite rare, perhaps this style never made it to the US. These are well worth restoring, The later ones were very square. The later Monza had a five speed box, low compression engine and small valves, and a ...

All I do know that the MotoMorini 350 has the same tank cap as the 1975 250 Desmo, if that is any help.

Züriversicherung or Allianz are two insurance suggestions so far. Next I need FIAM oil filters. I was going to use Mobil1 (motorsport if I can get it here, otherwise regular Mobil1), unless anyone screams stop?
