You should be able to remove the clutch and fly wheel bolts using a rattle gun without the need of locking the engine.
If you cannot find a fly wheel puller a sharp hit on the face of the fly wheel (out edge) pops the fly wheel off the taper. Obviously this is not by the book however I was advised ...

Thanks for the advice. I had a suspicion the rear head could not be removed without swinging the engine forward.
I think I will have a go with the heads on, if I find it too hard I will remove the heads and do the job on the bench. I have the slip on seals so I should be OK replacing at the same ...

Valve clearance check, valve seals replacement
Hi guys,
Got a couple of jobs to do on the bikes over the Xmas break. Would like to ask for some questions which will help me out.
- Do you recommend removing the heads (easier??) to check/adjust valve clearances and replace valve seals or is it just as easy without removing the heads?
- Can you ...

Hello Jon...I have had a couple of sprag bearings go on me. One went on me after I had the engine apart for a week fixing another issue and it failed when I wanted to fire it up to test my repairs. Lets just say I was not impressed of its timing.
By the results you mentioned there's a chance your ...

bad advice
Hello Richard,
The job can be done at home however there are a couple things:
- when removing (and doing them up again) the clutch basket and fly wheel retaining bolt you will need a rattle gun otherwise you will need a tool to lock the engine (can be made with an old clutch plate) if your trying ...

Wanted - Centre stand for Darmah
Hello All,
For some reason one of the legs on my centre stand broke off during a ride (not when putting the bike on the stand, actually while riding??).
I was going to fabricate a new leg and weld it on however I thought I should check if anyone has a reasonably priced stand kicking around they ...
