Ethanol and fiberglass
I had made a couple of posts on this topic, and had suggested using the POR 15 tank sealer. this was based on a reply to an email from POR, they are no longer suggesting that their sealer works on Fiberglass. This is a problem for me now because my tank has cracked (I think it was just a vibration ...

Use Frame Number
I purchased a 80 900ss from CA and its title used the Frame number, the Frame had been repainted and my guess was the vin plate was removed. Had no trouble getting it re-titled in CO.

it gets better then it gets worse
OK the clutch works now, but because I called the bike all sorts of bad names screw number 30 on the cover threaded. As this will be a pain to fix because ALL the treads cameout on the screw, anyone have any thoughts on riding without it until winter?.

No Clutch
OK, pulle the cover off, there is wear, but have decided to leave it for winter, grease everything up, put it back together, and now I have no clutch. The actuator arm moves as far as it will go but the clutch does not disengage the drive Any ideas?

Clutch leaver rattle 900ss 1977
Stupid question, but my clutch actuator lever at the engine end, is rattling from side to side enough that I can here it when I am riding. I have tried tightening up the cable but that doesnt stop it. The rattle is side to side, is this something I should investigate further?
Thanks

worry about the carbs first
I should not be allowed to give anyone carb advice, but, stupid question first, did you balance the carbs, if not check steve's balancing advice. If you did do you have any air leaks, check Steve's advice on finding these.

so much money
Thanks guys, from what I have observed the 79 and newer 900ss (or variations) attract less money regardless of condition. I paid $9800 for my 77, 6 years ago, it was pretty original, but was a riders bike, so the engine had been rebuilt in the 80's. It had all the original fiberglass, and ran pretty ...
