advice please

hi,
started my bike today for the first time after a rebuild and it started up easily but i have a problem in that the front cylinder is the one running and the rear does not,spark is good and no leaks, do you think it is the timing out or the carbs out of sync.

split pins in lockheed caliper

hi all,
i have cleaned up pads on front calipers on my bike and was wondering about the split pins that the pads slide on,
can they be replaced with any split pins or are they treated/hardened ?
ap lockheed calipers
any help please ?

fork leg axle bracket

hi all, i have tightened the axle bracket up too much and cracked the aluminium across the bolt hole , so i cannot tighten up the axle.
Does any body know if it can be welded ?
1972 750 gt with axle in front of forks:(

thanks for the reply, i have taken the head off tonight and looked at the
condition of the bore and valves and i think it looks ok, but i am wondering if it would be worth just putting new rings in while its in bits.

the bore of the liner looks like its still cross honed, so hopefully its in good ...

engine rebuild?

hi, i`ve a 72 gt bevel i`m restoring in the guise of a 750sport, have done the frame and am wondering whether to start to strip the engine down and see what state bores and rings are in also the valves etc.
Is this an easy task or better left to an expert, i would just like some advice from somebody ...

hi,on the subject of push rods i looked at the previous posts and was in the garage with clutch cover off so thought i would pull them out to clean and lube, on pulling out and cleaning then looking to the parts manual on a 750 sport/gt, the rods which are in my bike are not the same as in the ...

hi, i`ve got a ex race bike i am currently restoring into a 750 sport, its originally a 72 gt.
the bike has a total loss ignition system,which i dont know whether to keep or replace, whoever put it together knows there stuff because its all
been assembled and pieced together from other bits and bobs ...

i did try filing down but need a very thin file to get into the groove of the splines,does this not matter about having more play in the splines ? :?

hi all, can any one help with a problem i pulled my clutch case off on
the weekend and the plates came off,but the splined central basket has
sort of got wear marks on the splines where the tangs of the plate rub.
question one : can i just file out these undulations with fine grade paper

Thanks for the reply,i might just have to fabricate a loop up if one does not turn up.
I was thinking that i may be able to bend the tubing on my copper bending tool, this may depend on the gauge of steel used.

Rear frame loop for wide frame 750 gt

Hi does anyone know where i can obtain a rear frame loop for a wide frame 750 gt , the previous owner has butchered the loop off,so i cannot
fix a mud guard to the frame :)
